Chicken Salad “make over”

I just love “make over” dishes, and this is a perfect make over dish. By swapping mayonnaise for Greek yogurt, this “salad” becomes lower in calories and fat! I found this high protein salad on  (My fitness pal is an app which is used to track your calories/macro nutrients).

This is a great recipe if you have leftover chicken. The other night we were cooking steak on the BBQ and decided to add on some chicken breasts to have some extra healthy protein for the week. It was great to already have the pre cooked chicken, so I just turned it into a healthy chicken salad with this dish!

You can add this yummy, healthier chicken salad mix to whole grain bread or a wrap, or if your going low-carb, add it on top of a salad.



4 cups cooked & chopped chicken breasts

1/2 cup diced red onion

1/2 cup diced apple

1/2 cup sliced grapes

1 cup non fat plain Greek yogurt

2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1/2 tbsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste



1)Chop the chicken, grapes, onion and apples and add to a medium sized bowl

2)Add in the Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, and salt and pepper

3)Mix everything together

*Serve in a wrap, sandwich or on top of a salad
