DIY Last minute Halloween Costumes

Happy Halloween!

Going to a Halloween party and have NO IDEA what to wear? Too short on time to find something for the kid’s costumes or don’t want to spend a ton of money?  Last Minute doesn’t mean less amazing! Here are a few quick DIY ideas you can put together in minutes and most of them can be created with what you may already have at home!

1)Scarecrow

This is an easy one you can do with a few items you may already have in your closet. Add a little make up and you have a Pretty Scarecrow!

Here’s what you’ll need;

 

  • Black eyeliner and orange Eye Shadow
  • Plaid Shirt
  • Jeans
  • Straw Hat (or any type of brimmed hat)
  • Brown or Black Boots

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2)Crazy Cat Lady

If your or your child is already a crazy animal lover, this will be a perfect easy way to showcase how much you love your pets!  Here’s what you’ll need;

  • Bathrobe
  • Curlers for hair
  • Stuffed animals to pin on bathrobe
  • Slippers

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3)Sandlot Movie

This is the cutest EASY couples costume from the 90’s movie, The Sandlot. Squints (the geeky baseball kid) and Wendy (cute lifeguard) are two main characters which are easy DIY Costumes to replicate. What you’ll need;

Squints;

  • Baseball hat
  • Jeans
  • White T Shirt and Button down shirt
  • Thin black rimmed glasses

Wendy;

  • Red bathing suit/or tank top
  • Red shorts or pants
  • Whistle
  • White old fashioned sunglasses
  • Red hair bow

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4)Where’s Waldo?

This is another quick and easy costume, especially if you already have a white and red striped shirt and hat. If not, something similar could be found for inexpensive at Value Village or Good Will.

What you will need;

  • White Face paint
  • White & Red striped shirt and hat
  • Round Glasses

 

 

 

 

 

 

5)Handful of Grapes:

If you have a child who is terrified by the sound of a popping balloons, this may not be the best costume, otherwise this is a creative, inexpensive last minute DIY costume for your child.

What you need:

  • Bag of purple balloons
  • Green Felt for steam (or green hat or hoodie)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6)John Lennon & Yoko Ono

Each year, my husband and I find ideas to dress up as a couple. This is a costume , I’d wanted to do for a few years and was super easy! Some of the things we already had (white shirts, hats, sunglasses) and the rest I picked up from Value Village.

What you will need:

  • John Lennon
  • 60’s style sunglasses
  • Optional wig
  • New York shirt
  • Jeans

Yoko Ono

  • White shirt and skirt (or white dress)
  • White large brimmed hat
  • Over sized sunglasses
  • Knee high socks
  • Optional Black Wig
