Healthy Holiday Yams

The holidays are a hard time of year if you have fitness goals. With parties, holiday dinners and all the tempting treats, it becomes challenging to stay on that plan or make good choices.  I always try and bring a healthy dish to any holiday event because this way, I’ll know there will be at least one side dish that fits in with my clean eating regime and wont ruin my waistline!   Check out my Healthy holiday yam recipe that your family wont even know its “healthy”  Its a re-make on the traditional candied yam dish without the guilt!

Yam mixture;
Mash together;
6 -8 yams -peeled & boiled (or baked)
1/4 cup sugar free syrup
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 can pumpkin purée
Milk (optional)

Topping:
Mix together;
2 cups oats (ground into flour in a blender)
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 cup pecans
Aguave sweetener or stevia to taste
